Development begins on £11m Circle Health clinic

Construction work has commenced on Circle Health’s new £11m day hospital in Cheshire.

The Alexandra Clinic will specialise in outpatient services and be overseen by the management team at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle.

The site in Northwich is expected to see 200 patients a day for a range of daycase and outpatient procedures. Circle said it would use a unique triage system to ensure patients are able to access its services in the region within 24 hours. Patients who require more invasive procedures or alternative services will be referred to The Alexandra Hospital in advance in a bid to avoid unnecessary delays.

The clinic is expected to open in January 2025 with services spread over two floors. Alongside diagnostics and treatment for a range of conditions including gynaecology and ophthalmology, a mobile MRI Scanner will be available at the site twice a week.

Andrew Thornton, executive director of The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, said: ‘Our new hospital in Northwich promises to be a game changer for patients looking to access specialist medical services in a timely manner. We have spent a considerable amount of time planning and designing services specifically to meet the needs of patients in Northwich and further afield. We look forward to welcoming our first patients in January 2025.’
